The Coronation at Berwick
6th July 2008
<-- Index | Showing 1-1 of 1 pictures | Index -->
The rain was running down the back of my neck as I layed fire hose along the cess to signal TW167 in order to water 60009 in Berwick DGL. Everything was in place to fill her tender with 4000 gallons of West Cumbrian water. About an hour before the booked arrival time, I got a call from a hugely disappointed Fraser to say that Number 9 had failed at Tyne Yard. I hung around in Berwick P-Way yard for the night with a tanker full of water just in case Sir Nigel Gresley was to make it that far north. At 20.20 67002 pulled into Berwick Station for a crew change before taking The Coronation forward to Edinburgh - running some 130 minutes late.
